RBA Economics Competition 2009: Entries submitted to JAPE

The Reserve Bank of Australia and the UNSW Economics Society Essay Competition for students studying Economics at an accredited university in Australia has now closed.

Because the essay topic is related to the special theme issue of JAPE that was published at the end of 2009, entrants were also welcome to submit their work to JAPE for consideration. This particularly applied where essayists took a critical political economic approach to the topic.

E.L. "Ted" Wheelwright 1921-2007

Ted Wheelwright 1921 to 2007Ted Wheelwright, who died of bronchial pneumonia in August 2007, was one of the great contributors to Australian political economy. He was a significant figure in Australian labour history too, working in tandem with Ken Buckley, who died in 2006.  Ken and he wrote two volumes of Australian history from a labour perspective and edited five volumes of Essays in the Political Economy of Australian Capitalism (download story)
